How to Commission a painting

All portraits are painted from photographs supplied by you or, dependant on distance, I can arrange with you to take the photographs myself. Photographs need to be clear, sharp and, if possible, taken in natural light. Try to avoid harsh lighting or using a camera flash.

The traditional pose for a portrait is facing you with the head turned slightly to one side, although I find subjects caught in a more natural position can make for a better painting.

Ideally, a selection of photographs, with one being a true colour representation, are better as this gives me more information to work with. Photographs can be either posted to me or sent via email, providing they are or a high resolution.

Once you have chosen your photographs you need to choose which media you would like and the size of the painting.

For custom painting on alternative surfaces, a child's bedroom or pub signs please contact us with your requirements.
